1. Who we are & what this is

Astra Pilot Academy ("Astra Pilot Academy", "we", "us") operates an online exam-prep course, chart trainer, quizzes, and practice exams to help drone pilots prepare for the FAA Part 107 Unmanned Aircraft General — Small (UAG) knowledge test. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website and platform (the "Service").

Astra Pilot Academy is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) or any other government agency. Course-completion credential, not an FAA remote pilot certificate. FAA fees and passing score — confirm current details at faa.gov.

2. Accounts

You need an account (email + password, or a supported sign-in method) to access paid course content. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Tell us right away if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. Payments & billing

Paid plans are processed by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. When you check out, you're providing your payment details directly to Stripe under Stripe's own terms and privacy policy — Astra Pilot Academy does not receive or store your full card number, CVC, or other card data on our servers. We receive confirmation of payment and billing metadata (such as the last four digits of your card, transaction amount, and billing status) needed to grant and manage your access.

Prices, seat counts, and tier names shown on our pricing page are current as of the time you check out. Team/enterprise pricing is quoted separately.

4. Refunds & the pass guarantee

Outside of the pass guarantee described below, course fees are generally non-refundable once purchased, except where required by law.

If you purchased a plan that includes our pass guarantee, it works as described on our guarantee page:

• If you fail the FAA Part 107 (UAG) knowledge test on your first attempt, we refund 100% of the amount you actually paid us for that purchase — founding price, standard price, a discounted price, or the per-seat amount for a team seat.
• Complete every lesson in Modules 1–11 (marked complete in your account). Orientation and the final review checkpoints are not part of this requirement.
• Score 80% or higher on 2 different full practice exams, chosen from Practice Exams A, B, and C, and submit each before your FAA test date. Repeated attempts of the same exam do not qualify.
• Schedule the FAA test within 7 days of completing the course. If no slot is open in that window, book the earliest available slot at a PSI center within 50 miles and keep proof of that search.
• Take the test within 60 days of completing the course.
• Within 30 days of your test date, sign in and open Pass guarantee (/app/guarantee). Upload your PSI scheduling confirmation and Airman Knowledge Test Report showing the failing score as PDF, JPG, or PNG files (up to 10 MB each). If upload is unavailable, submit HTTPS links to the documents instead.
• We review claims within 5 business days. An approved refund goes back to the original payment method within 10 business days, and your course access stays active.
• One refund per purchase. A denied claim can be resubmitted with corrected proof. The guarantee is not available if that purchase was already refunded or charged back. For a team seat, the refund is paid to the purchasing organization.
• The refund is only what you paid us. It does not include PSI or FAA testing fees, travel, or retest fees.

5. What the course is — and isn't

The Service provides exam-preparation content: lessons, quizzes, practice exams, and a chart trainer built on real, public-domain FAA sectional-chart figures. Completing the course earns a course-completion credential from Astra Pilot Academy — it is not an FAA remote pilot certificate. Only the FAA (or an FAA-approved testing center) can administer the official knowledge test and issue a Remote Pilot Certificate.

Separately, 14 CFR §107.65 requires one of three methods within the previous 24 calendar months: an initial knowledge test, recurrent training, or §107.74 training if you hold a non-student Part 61 certificate and meet §61.56. The usual recurrent course (ALC-677) is free from the FAA, and ALC-515 is the usual §107.74 course. A flight review alone does not satisfy §107.65. Any recurrent-training or renewal content we offer is a paid, optional study aid — it is not a substitute for those methods.

6. Acceptable use

• Don't share your account, paid content, or downloads with people who haven't purchased access.
• Don't copy, scrape, resell, or redistribute course materials, questions, or chart assets.
• Don't attempt to circumvent access controls, licensing checks, or payment.
• Don't use the Service in any way that violates applicable law or infringes on others' rights.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We work hard to keep course content accurate and current, but FAA regulations, fees, and test formats change — always confirm current requirements at faa.gov. We don't guarantee that using the Service will result in passing the FAA knowledge test, except to the specific extent described in the pass guarantee above.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Astra Pilot Academy and its team are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you (for example, by email or an in-product notice). Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you consent to their jurisdiction. This section does not waive any consumer protection, remedy, or right to bring a claim in another forum that applicable law does not allow these Terms to waive.

12. Astra Pro subscription

Astra Pro is an optional membership sold separately from the Part 107 prep course. Astra Pro is not part of the Part 107 course and is not covered by the pass guarantee. Section 4 above is unchanged and applies only to the course.

Astra Pro renews automatically each month or year, whichever interval you chose, until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from your account (Manage billing). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and you keep access until then. We do not refund a partial billing period except where the law requires it.

Founding members (the first 100) keep the founding price for as long as that subscription stays continuously active. If the subscription ends, a later signup is charged the price in effect at that time. A membership started before December 1, 2026 is not charged until that date.
